Fleet Foxes "Grown Ocean"

It's been a little over five years since I've been home. This video and song remind me of that feeling that can only be found when you're living in the sticks. Gigantic Pines covering everything and crisp winter air cleaning you out. I remember waking up early in the morning when every thing was frosted over and seeing deer roam through my front yard. I should probably go home soon.

Tune Yards "Bizness" (video)

This video is putting me on a good one, it starts with the raddest little wild child ever, leading a classroom full of cutie pies into a dancing frenzy. If this is how my school was when I was a kid I prolly would have never known the meaning of the word Ritalin (That is at least until I was like 20 and wanted to party my ass off.) The second half of this video incorporates a huge sense of tribal community, filled with pastel and neon amazing-ness. All that coupled with the fact that this jam is more refreshing than doing a cannonball into a pool filled with XXX Vitamin water, seriously that shit is so good, makes this video some next level shit. Put on your dancing moccasins and get into dewds!!!

Frank Ocean (Album Download)

My boy Jesus threw this new Frank Ocean album at me earlier today. Frank is a part of Odd Future, which is absolutely the best thing that's happened to hip hop since Biggie. Franks solo shit is way less hip-hop and way more R&B. That being said the album on a whole half way catches my interest but a few tracks stick out like a road flair. My favorite jam is called "nature feels". It's about time someone uses MGMT's Electric Feels beat, to make a song purely about straight up bangin in the backyard under a cherry tree. Download the album here. "Baby girl tell me how my nature fells" is definitely the best R&B line since Ushers "Honey got some boobies like wow, oh wow"

Unouomedude "Frequency" MP3

This is the kind of song that I hear in my head when I want to create music, what comes out is a different story. Seriously though, this kid is amazing I love everything that he's doing. They may be fuzzed out but the lyrics are like a dream. I'm glad that he isn't afraid to sing about the pains and confusion that never seem to dissipate between the opposite of sexes. This guy gives bedroom/surf rockers a new bar to reach. This is for real, in all senses of the phrase, "Some next level shit."

DOM @ Soda Bar Tonight!!!!!!!!!

Tonight's the night kids! DOM is playing Soda Bar, not me by the way another kid who goes by DOM. Anyhoot hommies gonna bring the noise and this is prolly gonna be the best show of the month. So show up early to make sure you don't miss Heavy Hawaii, one of my favorite SD bands. To say tonight is gonna be a party would be an understatement. Tonight is gonna be a straight up 1950's surf town in that place, long boards and blond bombshells all around (I'll prolly be wearing tiny buff guy beach shorts...... Sorry I party.) Here's a lil preview of the dopeness that will ensue.

Reggie Watts (Video)

Holly shit my hommie Mike just dropped this video on me. So Reggie Watts is the funniest thing in hip-hop but this i-phone app performance is out of this world I can't stop watching this it's amazing. Not to mention he just straight starts shit talking about pancakes which is just way too good. PS the app is called everyday looper so I now know how I'm going to be spending my Tuesday morning before work.

Also here's a throw back video of Reggie killing it on some more old school technology.

Childish Gambino "Freaks and Geeks"

So, for the last couple days my hommies have been blowing me up with this new Gambino shit. First off, Don Glover (Dong-lover haha) is not only on the show Community, which is pretty hilarious, but he also spits straight heat under the name Childish Gambino. It's funny cause once that Radiohead video came out where Thom Yourke was dancing all around an abandon warehouse I fuckin hated it but for some reason when the great Gambino does it I think it's great.... huh, go figure.
PS. My favorite line is, "e.e. cumming on her face, now it's poetry in motion" that shiz is way too clever.
also this line
"While yall niggas masturbate, I'm in that Ariel Pink"... way to straight up reference one of last years top albums as a vagina, kind of the most hilarious shit ever!

Sun Glitters "too much to lose"

This song is bumming me out in a good way. It goes pretty well with this weather and all those earthquake scares that I've been hearing about. Sometimes it's good to be in a bad head space as long as you got the right soundtrack. Once that bass-fade drops it's almost like an anti anxiety medication kicking in. "Apply one play button and call me in the morning."

Air Waves "Lightning" (MP3)

"When we breath, breath, breath, in our sleep, when we wait, wait, wait, in our dreams, we can seize, seize, seize, to believe" I have an unhealthy obsession with dreams and their affect on the rest of my life. I had a dream the other day that I was totally making out with this crazy hot girl that I've been hanging out with recently, and all of a sudden there were all these lights in the sky that were forming different shapes and going all over the place and it was beautiful. All of a sudden the lights in the sky got closer and it turns out that they were alien spaceships coming to abduct us and take over the earth. I don't really know what that means but that's what i thought of when I heard this song.

Ponytail "Easy Peasy" (Video)

This new Ponytail video is pretty dope for a live performance I like how it's shot through a pair of sunglasses. I really really want to throw a music festival because of things like this!

Cults "Most Wanted" Mp3

So I just caught wind that my buddy Cory Stier is going to be drumming for these beautiful babies and I think that's just really swell. This song is prolly gonna be my sound track for the day. Alright I'll talk to you kids later I'm gonna go skateboarding with this song on repeat.

Cults Most Wanted

Jamuel Saxxon "Crackula" (video)

My hommie Jamuel just dropped this video on me the other day and it's kinda the shiz-ness (this a new word I'm trying out, it means that it's the shit and that it's also seriousness business, therefor it's kind of a big deal.) But seriously folks, the neon mirrored imaging coupled with the awesome next-level Nintendo beats makes me wish there was a Jammuel Saxxon video game that was around when I was a kid. I don't know what the game would consist of but it would prolly be the shiz-ness.

Cloud Nothings "Nothing's Wrong" (video)

This video is pretty comedy. I just like the fact that this dudes best friend is an effin shopping cart. He takes their relationship pretty seriously too. Peep the video below.

Heavy Hawaii "Teen Angel" (free download)

So I've been rocking this jam back into part of my daily routine again. It's kind of a huge deal. It's been out for a while but it popped up on my itunes randomly the other day and I was reminded just how badass these kids are. Oh yeah and they're from SD, so there's that.

Death From Above 1979

Check out the hilarious bass cam. it's pretty titties. I'm particularly down with how grainy the footage is. Not to mention this jam makes me want to break shit, but like the cool kind of breaking shit, like breaking shit in a land fill or inside of Donald trumps mansion... You know the cool kind.

A thank you to all of my awesome friends!

This post is a huge thank you to all of my wonderful friends who lift me up and push me to be better. I feel like for the first time since I can remember life is actually happening and I'm in it. It bums me out to think of people who aren't surrounded by amazing, hilarious, talented people. Thanks to all of you North Park beauties for lifting your shots with me and skating with me in Bird Park. Thanks for treating my dog like the person that she is and thanks for being the most compassionate group of individuals that anyone could ever meet. The long and short of it is that anyone who hasn't met you guys are seriously missing out. I am completely in love with all of you kids and can't thank you guys enough for making life more than just worth living you make life worth partying.
Big Love-
Dominic
P.S. look how badass we all look in this picture

We Don't Surf (Free Download)

Oh my effing god!!!.... Wait hold on, before I freak out, let me preface this post with the fact that I've been pounding dos equis like all G.D. day and skateboarding with my dog since noon.... and by dog I mean like an actual dog not a friend of mine that I refer to as a four legged creature.... Anywho, that being said I've been sifting through whatever music that the Internet wants to reveal to me at this very hilarious and inebriated moment and I've stumbled upon this. They're called "We don't surf" and they're a Spanish band that insists on blowing out all their tracks and fuzzing them up to great extremes but they're all acoustic. Anyways just shut up already and download this shit for free it's so great it makes me want to drink more dos equis and all I have is Coors light....... Whatever don't worry about me I'll be fine just press that play button dewd you'll see what I'm talkin about.

Dity Beaches "Lord knows best" (MP3)

I'm pretty sure that if they played this song on repeat in methadone clinics it would make coming down from serious drugs a lot easier.... I'm just saying this jam is pretty soothing and with that wispy piano line that repeats throughout it's the kind of tune that makes the hard times a little easier to swallow.

Million Young & Teen Daze "Us and Them" (Video)

I thought I got over my Pink Floyd binge back in my teen daze around the same time I ditched my over sized jenco pants, nail polish, eye shadow, and the over whelming feeling to hate on my parents for no particular reason. This cover is about to pull me back over to the dark side though, cause holy shit this is one of the dopest performances I've seen in a long time

Bruisecaster

My buddy Will just sent me this beautiful footage of Bruisecaster that he shot a few weeks back from the park gallery show. Needless to say the shit is dope. The beat is clean the bass line will drive you into a perfect stony Sunday stroll and Peters vocals get me all amped to skateboard in the sunshine!

La Sera "Devils heart grows gold" (Video)

Oh my god, holy shit, I can't believe how amazing this song and video is. This for sure is the only song I'll be listening to for weeks. I want to be drunk at a pool party and do endless slow-motion cannonballs to this song, but there has to be speakers in the pool so I can still hear this song when I'm under water. I'm being completely serious this is the most amazing song. I mean, I've loved La Sera for a while now but holy shit this is some next level shit. Oh yeah and the video is souper titties as well.

STEVE! (huh? 7") Free Download!!!!!!

Hey guys I just released my bedroom solo project STEVE! the other day and the 7" is free. Click here to get it. It's different than BRUIN, it's a little more personal and pulled apart so yeah I hope you guys enjoy it.

Die Jungen "the Way Down"

Ok, so I stumbled on these kids a few days ago and can't stop listening to this song. It tugs on me a lot, I mean like for real it makes me feel a little drunk and trippy.... Long story short this song is drugs (but the good kind... when the good kind are working right).... Anyways pull out your tambourine and and take out your ponytail and rock this jam a couple times you'll see what I mean.

Papercuts "Do what you will" (Video)

I've been waiting for Yourstru.ly to get their hands on these guys. I'm completely in love with this song and this live performance sounds like a dream... Like the good kind of dream, like the flying kind or the kind where you get to kiss a pretty girl, not the kind with spiders... Oh yeah and just so you SD kids know these guys will be performing at Tin Can Ale House on march 12th with Young prisms... prolly gonna be one of the best shows of the month so get there!

Dreamers of the Ghetto "Tether"

I'm just gonna go ahead and completely ignore the fact that the lead singer of this band is a Sasquatch-werewolf trapped in a fishing net and solely focus on home girl playing the keys, I highly suggest you do the same. And wait a minute, is that Woody Harrelson on guitar? eeh whatever this song is pretty dope.
