The 10 best Music Videos of 2010

This list is in no particular order these are just simply what I believe to be the top 10 videos of 2010. Enjoy!

OK let's get this thing rollin. First up is The Fan Video for LCD Soundsystem's, "Home". There are multiple reasons that this video reached the top Ten for me. I love Robots, I love to party, and I love love love this song. This jam pretty much got me through the entire year. Director Rick Darge paints a beautiful picture of how you can never be too young, or too old, to party.
Band: LCD Soundsystem "Home"
Director: Rick Darge (funwunce)

So when I first heard the track Bombay by El Guincho my legs started moving on their own and before I knew it I was 35 margaritas deep in my boxers fist pumping my life into oblivion. Now seriously, watch this video, it's full of nothing but awesomeness and more boobies than you could shake a stick at. Director Nicolás Mendez takes on this super dope Carl Sagan aspect with this video to remind us how random and great the world is.
Band: El Guincho "Bombay"
Director: Nicolás Mendez

So I'm pretty sure that this song came out at the very beginning of this year if it was earlier than I apologize. The kids over at Yours Truly constantly blow me away and have a very unique filming style that makes you feel like a band is sitting in your lap preforming their hearts out, only for you. That being said this video is that feeling times infinity. I remember watching this and being floored at how beautiful it can be when a large group of people come together to create something.
Band: The Morning Benders "Excuses"
Director: Yours Truly

There's no way that Spike Jonze directed a video and wasn't gonna be on this list. He's directed every amazing skate video and music video and this video is no exception. There is such an amazing feeling that happens when your young that seems to surface less and less once life sets in. I feel that this video blares out like a visual siren all the silly, scary, happy, and angry things that come along with being a child trying to fit into the next stages of your life.
Band: Arcade Fire "The Suburbs"
Director: Spike Jonze

Hey does anyone wanna go to this super bad ass alien techno party.... Really no one OK your loss suckers. seriously check out the triplets of neon up against the concrete wall those kids are murdering the dance floor.
Band: Yaesayer "One"
Director: Radical Friend

One of the craziest videos I've seen all year was this kids final project for his illustration course. this very lucid and stream of consciousness style of illustrating reminds me of the scene in dumbo when he starts hallucinating pink elephants everywhere. This is the perfect accompaniment the Animal Collective's Lion in a Coma.
Band: Animal Collective "Lion in a Coma"
Director: Ori Toor

This video and song are way too much fun. The hommies over at pogo did an amazing job remixing the scenes and sounds from the movie UP to give us this very captivating video.
Band: POGO "Upular"
Director: POGO

OK so Anthony Fransisco Schepperd has gotta be one of the most talented animators of our time. This video makes me rethink my existence in the world. His themed use of technology infecting nature is off the charts. His color scheme perfect. All in all this guys is a mother fucking genius and this song is crazy dope as well.
Band: Blockhead "the music scene"
Director: Anthony Fransisco Schepperd

Before the official video for Cee Lo's "Fuck You" came out there was this. Personally I much prefer this version . There is something particularly hilarious about the font and color choices. Plus I really like having every single word of this song being shoved in your face cause I've definitely been in this type of "Fuck You" situation and this is exactly how it goes down.
Band: Cee Lo Green "Fuck You"
Director: ?

I know that Yours Truly has appeared twice on this list but for good reason. The kids are amazing. this video in particular captures how nuts it is to have a solo project and play all of the instruments. Plus I really like this version of the song it kind of strips away all of the dance-y-ness and gives this amazing surf vibe that makes me wanna mac hella face in the sunshine.
Band: Toro y Moi "You Hid"
Director: Yours Truly

There it is folks that's my list for the year I hope you liked it and if you did please share it with your friends. Thanks a million
Love,
This Moving Picture
